Matt Walker – Travel Director
After being heavily involved in Villa Carlotta Travel as CEO for five years, Matt has recently become a co-owner of the business.
Matt is passionate about providing excellent holiday experiences to Villa passengers. On a personal level, Matt loves travelling! On a professional level, much of his career has been spent in the travel and tourism industry. Matt has worked for large scale tourist attractions in Australia and overseas in various sales, marketing and management roles, which gave him the opportunity to travel across the UK, Europe and North America. He later went on to become CEO of a large membership based tourism association in the South West, and has been with Villa for the past five years.
Matt works alongside founding business owner, Margaret Buswell, and manages Villa’s team of Tour Leaders, Coach Captains and head office staff.
Villa Carlotta Travel continues to provide an extensive range of escorted tours within Australia and overseas, and in response to increased demand, also offers fully independent tailored holidays through experienced in-house travel agent, Karen Jones.
Karen Jones – Travel Agent
Villa travel agent, Karen Jones, has travelled extensively within Australia and overseas, and draws on more than 20 years of experience to deliver excellent customer service.
Karen is knowledgeable about all aspects of travel, but admits to having a particular passion for outdoor adventures and nature walks.
Although Karen specialises in making travel arrangements for semi-retirees and retirees, she also enjoys the variety of looking after young couples, families and corporate travellers.
Whether you’re planning to take a short break within Western Australia, an interstate adventure or an international escape, Karen is on hand to help book your next holiday.
Michelle Sorgiovanni – Travel Office and Logistic Manager
Joining Villa in May 2023 is our newest team member, Michelle. She brings a wealth of expertise to Villa with over 20 years of experience in business management, specialising in the tourism and hospitality sectors.
Michelle’s responsibilities include managing our travel office and managing supplier product to deliver our tours. Her passion for travelling is evident and she has a particular fondness for Singapore which she considers her favourite overseas travel destination.
With her extensive background and love for exploring new places, Michelle is committed to ensuring a memorable experience for our valued passengers.
Susann Maciej – Product & Logistics Coordinator
Originally from Germany but now a WA local, Susann’s love for travel is evident in her meticulous planning and the wonderful itineraries she puts together.
Susann liaises with Villa’s preferred suppliers to coordinate air, rail, cruise, and destinations to organise a great range of fantastic Australian and international group tours.
She is one of our latest recruitments to the Villa Team having joined us in December 2021. Susann studied Tourism Management and has worked several years for a European River Cruising Company before coming to Australia on a work and holiday visa. Getting lost in OZ as lot of visitors do, she decided to stay and make Busselton her new home away from home. Her favourite spot to visit in WA is Broome – the pearl of the north.
