Icelandic folklore tells of elves and trolls hidden among the country’s hills, rocky outcrops and lava fields, adding a little magic to an already incredible landscape.

Iceland is one of those places where the scenery really does live up to the photos. Over eight days, you’ll travel from Reykjavik through some of the country’s best-known landscapes, stopping at huge waterfalls, geothermal hot springs, volcanic areas and the ice-filled Lake Jökulsárlón. There’s a whale-watching cruise from Hauganes, a chance to stand between two tectonic plates at Thingvellir and even a taste of bread baked using the heat from Iceland’s hot springs. You’ll also travel through quieter towns and countryside along the way, giving you a chance to see more than just the headline sights. With your accommodation, transport and touring organised, it’s an easy way to see a lot of Iceland in just eight days.
